The UNEP FI – with the support of CAF, the Latin American Development Bank – offer the Online Course on "Climate Change & the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures: Risks & Opportunities for the Banking Industry". This course aims at supporting financial institutions to carry out the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures - responsive assessments & disclosures, and is based on the ground-breaking work of the UNEP FI pilot groups on TCFD adoption.
The main takeaway from the course includes how climate change impacts on financial institutions, the latest scientific insights as compiled by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), how to assess the credit risks and opportunities from physical climate change, how to assess the credit risks and opportunities from the transition to the low-carbon economy and how banks are implementing the Recommendations on the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) Framework.
